The story
A sharp-tongued medium inherits a shuttered cinema — and the final reel its last owner never screened.
Mabel Finch reads fortunes in the lobby of the Orpheum to keep its lights on. When a sealed canister arrives from the cinema’s last owner, the undeveloped reel inside starts answering questions nobody asked — first funny, then not.
A love letter to picture houses, filmed in three endangered single-screen cinemas. The séance scenes were shot in single takes before live audiences of two hundred.
